Laura Caliguiri, Owner and Curator, has a long-time appreciation and passion for art, antiques, and design.

Her vision for Harper Hughes Home began in earnest with an antique buying trip to Paris in 2015, when she began the process of visits to French antique fairs, flea markets, and brocantes - carefully picking up pieces that she loved. Over time, Laura accumulated an elegant array of antiques and found objects, building relationships with antique dealers, and honing her knowledge in the process. What will surprise many, is that this foray into antiques and design follows a multi-decade career in Washington, DC. Laura worked in the private sector for corporations and trade associations developing and executing strategic communications and initiatives to drive key healthcare policy issues. She additionally served as a senior-level government official focusing on health and human services at the nation's largest civilian department.

Harper Hughes Home's inventory reflects her philosophy in collecting - putting patina over provenance and using her artist's aesthetic for layered texture, tone, and color value. Finding inspiration everywhere, her personal and professional travel across Asia, Africa, Europe and the Middle East - as well as her own artistic endeavors - have heavily influenced her curation progression. Laura has created a refined showcase with a chemistry between the objects that traverses both time and geography.
